Telephone 01779 482445. The team of midwives will provide care throughout your pregnancy and after your baby is born. Your midwife will plan your antenatal care with you along with appropriate local maternity services. You will be invited to attend preparation for parenthood sessions to help you to prepare for labour and parenthood. After your baby is born, you will receive midwifery care at home. The midwives can be contacted between 8.30am and 5.00pm (Monday to Friday) on 01358 725566 for non-urgent matters. Please leave a message on their voicemail service if they are not in the office when you call. They will return your call within 24 hours. However, if you require URGENT advice AT ANY TIME, please contact Labour Ward at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital on 01224 553602.
Community Nurses
The District/Community Nursing Team delivers a wide range of nursing care to patients with acute and chronic illnesses in their own homes, whilst supporting the patient, family and carers. The Nursing Team only visit patients wo are housebound. All patients who can access transport are asked to attend the surgery Treatment Room for any nursing requirements, by surgery appointment system.
The philosophy of the team is to encourage self-care in order to maintain independence.
The team share appropriate information regarding patient's nursing needs, thus any member of the team should be able to assist with your enquiries or concerns.
For your security all nursing staff carry identification. Student nurses frequently accompany members of the team whilst on placement at the Practice. Please make a member of the team aware if you do not wish a student accompanied visit.
We would be grateful if patients make available liquid soap and a clean towel for the nurse visiting to wash his/her hands.
If you require dressings the items used will be prescribed. It is the responsibility of the patient or your family to collect the items or arrange delivery from your chemist.
It is kindly requested that all pets are kept under control and that you refrain from smoking during nursing staff visit.
